Aspley Special School is part of the Metropolitan North region of the Queensland Department of Education (DoE), serving a broad student catchment area that stretches from the inner city to Eatons Hill, Sandgate, and Bracken Ridge.
We pride ourselves on offering tailored educational programs for secondary-aged students with disabilities. Our approach is centred on individualised learning plans, ensuring that every student, no matter their ability, thrives and achieves success.
Our school’s focus is on ‘learning for life,’ empowering students with the skills they need to succeed beyond school.
Aspley Special School is a Year 7 to 12 school with two sub-schools – Junior and Senior.
Junior Secondary School – Years 7-9
The Junior School provides a strong foundation in the Australian Curriculum, with an emphasis on personalised learning based on the individual needs outlined in each student’s Individual Curriculum Plan (ICP). Here, students gain the essential knowledge and skills to smoothly transition into Senior School.

Senior School – Years 10-12
The Senior School focuses on preparing students for life after school. This is guided by each student’s Senior Education Training (SET) plan, Planning Alternative Tomorrows with Hope (PATH) plan, and is aligned with the Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement (QCIA). We aim to ensure that students are equipped for their next steps in life, whatever those may be.
