Aspley Special School is located within the Metropolitan region of the Queensland Department of Education (DoE). The student catchment area is geographically very large, spreading from the inner city to Eatons Hill, Sandgate and Bracken Ridge.
We are unique in that it is the only special schools in the Brisbane City Council area that provides programs for secondary aged students with disability. To ensure that all students, regardless of ability, are succeeding, our school provides individualised programs to meet the needs of the students.
Our school is focused on ‘learning for life’ to ensure that students are developing the skills required for post-school life.
Aspley Special School is a Year 7 to 12 school with two sub-schools – Junior and Senior.
Junior Secondary School – Years 7-9
With a firm focus on the Australian Curriculum and heavily influenced by personalised learning needs identified in their Individual Curriculum Plan (ICP), the Junior School provides essential knowledge and skills that our students need and are entitled to, as they transition into Senior School.

Senior School – Years 10-12
In the Senior School, we prepare students for post-school life, based on their needs identified in their Senior Education Training (SET) plan, Planning Alternative Tomorrows with Hope (PATH) plan and aligned to the Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement (QCIA).
