Camps and excursions

Camps and excursions are part of our school curriculum and most students will participate in at least one camp and excursion, during their years at Aspley Special School. Camps and excursions provide a unique opportunity for staff to:
  • observe students operate in a non-school environment
  • identify specific life skills that can be targeted whilst on camp and on return to school

Some camps have a very specific purpose and may involve students from several classes e.g. Fishing Camp.

Costs associated with camp are kept to a minimum but will vary according to the nature, location and duration of the experience.  Staff put a lot of effort into fundraising to keep costs to a minimum.  Parent support for these fundraising activities is also appreciated. Class teachers will inform parents early in the year regarding potential dates, locations and planned outcomes.
