Camps and excursions

Camps and excursions are part of our community-based instruction (CBI) program. Most classes will have once a week. This could include navigating public transport, shopping for ingredients or using their communication device with unfamiliar people.
Offsite programs provide a unique opportunity for staff to:
  • observe students operate in a non-school environment
  • identify specific life skills that can be targeted whilst on camp and on return to school.

Currently, Year 12 students participate in a camp.

Costs associated with camp are kept to a minimum but will vary according to the nature, location and duration of the experience.  Staff put a lot of effort into fundraising to keep costs to a minimum.  Parent support for these fundraising activities is also appreciated. Class teachers will inform parents early in the year regarding potential dates, locations and planned outcomes.
